UEA Students & Staff
The Sportspark at the University of East Anglia has some of the best University sporting facilities in the country. Whether you are a student or member of UEA staff, you will be entitled to reduced activity prices when you show your valid and registered campus card.
Student & Staff Sport
Full time undergraduate and postgraduate students on a taught degree course and all staff will have their campus cards validated free of charge for the length of their course or appointment at the university*.
UEA Students & Staff need to take their campus cards to the Sportspark reception and fill out a registration form for validation. The validated campus card will give free entry into the Sportspark and the further discounts.
*Please note, under the Terms and Conditions of Sportspark’s Lottery funding, we are not able to extend this to part-time students.
Students who register their cards will automatically gain Educational Sportscard privileges which includes unlimited free access to the Sportspark and the lowest activity charges. The cost of this is jointly met by the University and the Department pf Physical Education and Sport.
In addition, UEA Students can upgrade their membership to Off-Peak Gym, Off-Peak Swim or Gold (Peak) Gym and Swim for a reduced annual rate.
UEA Staff who register their campus cards will automatically gain unlimited free access to Sportspark. Staff can take out any level of membership at a discounted rate, therefore full time members of staff can become Bronze Members for £2 a month, Silver Members for £24 a month or Gold Members for £30 a month. Staff are required to fill out a membership application form at the Sportspark Reception. On leaving the University the standard monthly charges will apply.
Ziggurat Inter-School Challenge – for Students and Staff
Every year the UEA runs the Zigguart Inter-School Challenge. Ziggurat is free to enter and is a recreational level programme of sports tournaments open to all students and staff at the University.
Intramural Team Challenge
This year we welcome the start of the brand new UEA Intramural Sports program. We would like to invite all students, undergraduates, postgraduates and UEA staff to compete in each of four intramural sports events. In the first semester we have Badminton and Touch Rugby on offer, and in semester two we have Basketball and Football.
Each sport will run for a 7 week program and is designed to allow friends and colleagues to band together to try their hand at a new sport in a friendly environment.
Grab some housemates, or people in the flat next door, we would love for each Hall of Residence to have some teams they could enter to play against each other. Or if you are no longer in campus accommodation, you can also develop a team and enter as well!
