Please be aware that several car parks across the University of East Anglia campus will be adjusted to operate via Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) over the coming weeks.
This does not currently include the Sportspark car park, but it WILL mean adjustments to processes when parking in the main UEA car park.
The current arrangement that allows Sportspark customers to validate for free UEA car parking after 16:30 Monday to Friday, or at any time over the weekends, will continue. However, the validation process will change from the current chip-coin unit to requiring customers to input their vehicle’s registration plate number on each visit.
It is essential that if Sportspark customers have entered the main UEA car park outside of these times (i.e., before 16:30 on weekdays), after validating for their free parking allowance, they also visit the pay-on-foot machines located in the car park to pay any charges and avoid a Parking Charge Notice (PCN). Please be aware that if you forget to pay within the car park, there will also be an option to clear fees via an online payment portal. However, these fees must be paid within 24 hours of exiting the car park.
The two validation units available within the Sportspark reception area will not inform customers of any charges due, so it will be the customer’s responsibility to check and pay for any parking as necessary.
Please be reminded that the UEA car park is NOT part of the Sportspark facilities, and the operational requirements of that location must be adhered to at all times. No exceptions to this fee structure will be made by either Sportspark or the University.
Sportspark will continue to provide updates as the project progresses over the coming weeks. Please ensure you monitor our website, download our app, and look out for signage within Sportspark on your upcoming visits.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we adjust to these new processes.
