OUR VALUES

We are aiming to provide a seamless take on UEA’s 2030 Strategy at Sportspark. The University’s new ‘Strategy 2030’ was shaped over several months with the input of thousands of staff, students, PGRs, alumni and members of the wider UEA community. This included engagement with the online community, in-person drop-in sessions, workshops, focus groups, surveys and staff forums.

Sportspark mission statement

“All Day, Every Day, For The Community”

Sportspark operational philosophy

Sportspark offers an accessible facility offering a diverse range of activities maximising the number of different people that use the facilities at affordable prices that generate sufficient income to maintain a sustainable operation.

Read about our values

Sportspark forms an important part of the University as a facility within the Sport and Commercial Services division. Therefore, our previous SPICI customer values have now been replaced to align with the University’s values.

Based on feedback from Sportspark staff we have developed a list of what we believe this should look like within our team and how this will be displayed to our customers:

OUR HISTORY

Sportspark originally opened its doors for the first time in 2000. Funded primarily by the Lottery and Sport England it has become one of the most successful community sport facilities in the UK. Our success has been achieved through providing an accessible facility that offers a diverse range of activities with an operating policy that maximises the number of different people who can use the facility at affordable prices.

Our relationships with Sport England, Active Norfolk, our neighbouring district councils, as well as schools and colleges in the region have led to a number of new programming opportunities with sport’s National Governing Bodies (NGB’s) as part of extending our support for sport in the community. Programming is at the heart of everything we do and we are always searching for new opportunities to engage with those that aren’t currently users of Sportspark.

Moving forwards, in 2018 we created our first ever strategy introducing our plan for the next 5 years. ‘UEA, Sportspark and You.’ Strategy Document – Digital (PDF)

Accessibility

Plan your visit through our 360 Tour!
