University of East Anglia - Graduation

Graduation is a special occasion for the University, celebrating the hard work and success of our graduating students. As previously communicated; Sportspark is proud to be able to share in their success and can confirm that graduation ceremonies for the class of 2024 will be held on site during July 2024.

With up to 2000 visitors attending each ceremony we have worked closely with the Graduation team to minimise any impact on our other customers, however there will be some adjustments and restrictions to facility access during this time. Further details will continue to be communicated over the coming weeks and we would strongly encourage all Sportspark users to ensure their contact details are updated by visiting www.sportspark.co.uk/marketing-preferences/ as well as following us on our socials, downloading our app and allowing app notifications.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Sportspark carpark will be reserved solely for Graduation use and will therefore be unavailable for Sportspark customers from Tuesday 9 July to Monday 22 July (inclusive). Alternative parking will be provided free of charge within the main University carpark during this time.

Although travel to the venue for those attending Graduation has been arranged to take place via park and ride it is expected that the volume of traffic is still likely to be higher during this period. Therefore, we would encourage our customers to allow more time when attending Sportspark.

The Main Arena (Halls 1-3) will be unavailable for use from Wednesday 10 July to Monday 22 July (inclusive). Halls 4 & 5 will be unavailable for use from Saturday 13 July to Saturday 20 July (inclusive). The main ground floor corridor will also be inaccessible with entry to Halls 4 & 5 (up to 13 July), and the Spring Gymnastics Centre, via the 1st floor corridor. Pushchairs can be left in the designated bays but if you have any concerns, or additional requirements, please speak to a member of the team who will be happy to assist you. We politely request that noise is kept to a minimum when using the 1st floor corridor as ceremonies will be taking place in Halls 1-3.

In order to reduce the impact on Sportspark customers, Graduation access has been designed to take place via our external areas; specifically the track and adjacent walkway thus avoiding our internal Reception. Outdoor users are therefore kindly requested to be mindful of this when accessing and exiting the outdoor facilities.
As a reminder, all aspects of the Athletics Track will unavailable for use from Wednesday 10 July to Monday 22 July (inclusive).

To summarise:

  • Sportspark carpark unavailable Tuesday 9 July to Monday 22 July (free parking available in University carpark)
  • Halls 1-3 unavailable Wednesday 10 July to Monday 22 July
  • Halls 4 & 5 unavailable Saturday 13 July to Saturday 20 July
  • Athletics Track unavailable Wednesday 10 July to Monday 22 July

We look forward to welcoming all visitors and thank everyone for their patience during this exciting time.

Sportspark
